The location used for Maple Street was later reused as the abandoned town in Stopover in a Quiet Town (1964).
A radio dramatization was produced in the mid-2000s with Frank John Hughes playing Steve Brand, and was included in The Twilight Zone (1959): Radio Dramas collection in Volume 2.
A graphic novel version was published by the Savannah College of Art and Design along with Walker & Co.
This episode features MGM's "Andy Hardy Street" extensively. The production company will return to it often during the run of the series to represent quaint suburban neighborhoods. Charlie's house is the original Hardy residence. The street will be back briefly in the next two episodes, "A World of Difference", and "Long Live Walter Jameson".
Samples from this episode were used extensively by the Canadian industrial music band Skinny Puppy for their song "Monster Radio Man."
