The best since the pilot
1 July 2009 | by See all my reviews

"Star Crossed" is, IMO, the best episode of "Tru Calling" since the pilot. There are several reasons for that, but I will agree with another comment that the most important one is the sensitive, sweet, non-judgmental depiction of - SPOILERS - the lesbian relationship that turns the story from "Romeo and Juliet" to "Juliet and Juliet". I was really impressed by the way a "glossy" TV series dealt with that topic. Beyond that, this episode is beautifully done all around, with well-thought-out little clues (the necklace!), constant twists in the mystery plot, honest acting by all the guest stars which helps you see the story from all their different perspectives, and fun love/hate chemistry between Harrison and Lindsay. A winner. ***1/2 out of 4.
