The episode begins with a seemingly sweet young woman entering a beauty pageant for the 'Miss Fresh Face' title. Immediately, she is unwelcomed by the contestants.
Tru awakens to a phone call from a reporter from the newspaper and within moments, the woman is 'politely' down Tru's throat about her connection with many 'near death/murder' experiences: the Savior of all those who lived through them. Trying to compose herself, Tru blows her off and hangs up.
As was revealed in a past episode, Harrison owes an imposing man four grand and to his advantage, his girlfriend Lindsay (And friend of Tru for those who don't know)has selected him to be a judge in the pageant. He strikes up a deal with his debtor: He 'assures' him that his daughter will win the pageant and when she does so, Harrison will no longer owe anything. As always, Harrison plays with fire and even says the following to Tru after she inquires on how serious the matter is (after he is booted off the judge's table):
"Let me put it this way: I may be asking for your help tonight... from beyond" He then lets her know that he was joking, playing cool and letting her know that he still does not buy her 'saving dead people' trick.
One of the contestants ends up getting murdered and trying to save her after begin asked to (Obviously by the dead chika) Tru joins the contest: remembering how the day before a girl dropped out and they needed someone to take her place.
The victim named Jackie is kind to Tru and lets her use one of her dresses. Tru doesn't change her hair at all for the competition which is slightly annoying: otherwise she looks nice. While backstage, what appears to be Jackie's old boyfriend comes and roughly talks to her. Obviously, he becomes a suspect along with a bratty, cocky contestant which confuses Tru.
Beating on the Tru x Luke brake-up, Luke comes and talks to Tru in front of the elevator (As usual) and lets her know that he is going on a date tonight just to be informative and make sure that she doesn't find out another way and make there be tension between them.
She lets him know that it is okay and so thus, with his dorky usual grin, he begins close the conversation just before Tru gets a phone call. Tru tells him that she must leave to aid Harrison and with little 'Why aren't I surprised?' mutter for pity from the audience he turns and leaves. They attempt the pathetic dejected thing but strangely I don't feel it.
I think that the relationship with the two of them is tedious but it could just be me. He always has the same expression in every situation. Whether romantic, troubled, upset or in thought. Hes not too expressive. Other than the 'tension' between the two of them and his new date, the episode is fair. And tell me this: are you surprised by the fact that Luke's date doesn't work out? Honestly?
Davis is meanwhile in the morgue when the lady from the newspapers comes and tries to get information from him. First she compliments and flirts with him and then gets nasty (As the villianis always does)when he doesn't fall for the bait to her liking. He refuses to release any information for her and so she storms away.
At one point Harrison's life is threatened and this has to be the most interesting scene in the episode. Yet, having the 'lucky older sister' he amazingly lives through it: claiming that it wasn't news to him his debtor's daughter won.
