This show is funny at times, even when I don't think it's trying to be. So, so, soooo low budget. I love that the alien prisoners managed to escape to a whole new planet and the very first thing they did was set up a nightclub to all hang out in together. Yet this club seems to have many more employees and customers than Mel's place. The image of the mild mannered older man in his sunglasses as the lead bad guy cracked me up. Also the guy with the long white beard partying it up with his crooked hat. The best gag was Tiffany calling. Enough time had pass since this aired that I'm really getting a kick out of the retro fashions.
Mel is sadly so far the weakest link. Even Jess had more personality and character development (if you could call it that) this episode. I'm not sure if it's just the writing, which, let's face it, is weak or if the part is miscast. I guess there are more episodes to find out. I kind of just want to watch Cole to hang out with Tiffany instead. She seems fun.
