The most intense, and one of the best, of the series

Ving Rhames, Rob Knepper (T-Bag from "Prison Break) and Mark Rolston (The Shawshank Redemption) make guest appearances in what is arguably the most intense episode of "Tour of Duty", as racial tensions in the platoon begin to inhibit the effectiveness of the men when out fighting. Sgt. Anderson and Lt. Goldman must tread lightly in addressing the issue, as a small cohort of soldiers begin to stir trouble with the African-Americans in the platoon. Their arrival on the scene coincides with the arrival of a strong and highly experienced soldier named Tucker (Rhames) who is equally as discriminative towards the whites. Taylor rallies behind him but Johnson wants to stay out of it completely. When a soldier is murdered with a GI bayonet out in the bush one night, things begin to heat up considerably. Especially when it is revealed that the bayonet belongs to Johnson...

"Burn Baby, Burn" is aptly titled, because the tension rises so much that it threatens to explode just like Detroit has back home; the riots playing a strong part in the background of this episode. The acting is superb and the guest appearances from Rhames, Rolston and Knepper are very enjoyable, when you take into account what they would appear in later on in their careers. This is one of the best episodes, in my opinion. 5/5Probably the most intense episode of the entire series
