Storyline

The comedy segment was psychic predictions for the new year. Some were from an unnamed tabloid, others from the "NBC Psychic". McLean Stevenson first talked about his visit on-board a Canadian Armed Forces submarine. He also mentioned about being an assistant with Northwestern U. football program, and the lack of success since then. He and Johnny discussed that Stevenson and his wife were expecting a child within two weeks - the wife had worked on The Tonight Show. He also talked about New Years when he was growing up in Indiana. Eddie Murphy was making his first appearance on the Tonight Show. He did a stand-up comedy routine. Written by lenab9011
