Geronimo meets Angie Dickinson and Fred Ziffel
FloridaFred28 December 2018
Geronimo! An interesting episode, co-starring the delicious Angie Dickinson, and an appearance by "Fred Ziffel" (Hank Patterson). One drawback - it was typical of 1950's Westerns to cast white actors as American Indians. With the utmost respect to actor John Doucette, he simply doesn't come across as Geronimo. Add to that, the overacting by Lieutenant Forsythe (George Gilbreth). And, last week's episode of Tombstone Territory was set in the year 1885... this episode is set in 1889, but Sheriff Hollister hasn't aged a bit in 4 years. There is also the historical error regarding Geronimo's surrender/capture. Geronimo surrendered in 1886. This episode claims to have happened in 1889. Not possible. Finally, the ending of this show does not bring closure. So, I have to give it only 7 stars.

Disappointing

Most of the time, this is a pretty good TV Western. But there isn't much favorable to say about this episode. John Doucette is a fine actor, but is not at all convincing as Geronimo. And Angie Dickinson, while lovely as always, has been worked over by the makeup and hair stylists -- She has a full face of makeup and a curly haircut that screams 1965. As stated in the Goofs, there's a big historical error: Geronimo had been back on the reservation for 3 years before the date of this episode. (No way he could have been in Tombstone.) Plus, there isn't a real ending to the story. I'm only giving it 5 stars.
