Eliott Reid appeared on an episode of the "Ed Sullivan Show" doing impressions. I remember his impression of John F. Kennedy, who may have been already elected, or was just running for President at the time, depending upon the date. Reid was, without a doubt, the very first person in a long line of performers to imitate Kennedy on television with this performance -- at least the first to do it on a network broadcast. I remember watching it. He was excellent. No one had ever attempted it before such a large audience. It was the first time I ever saw Reid. I see that he was already a veteran actor. I just watched him in "Inherit the Wind," and I can easily see that he had the facial quality and the build to support him in the imitation. I don't think anyone else has ever written about this.
