Storyline

Sarah Reeves arrives in New York City from San Francisco to find her biological father only to encounter one mishap after another starting when she loses her luggage at the airport and arrives at the apartment building where her mother grew up and shacks up with Romy Sullivan, a struggling, near-starving actress determined to make it big, as well dealing with the cynical building superintendent Cecilia Wiznarski. Sarah also meets musician and CD shop employee John Maguire and his waitress friend roommate Jocelyn "Joss" House who works at the seedy nightclub down the street, as well as Romy's neighbor J.B. who lives across the street. Sarah's search for her father leads her to her late mother's dance instructor who steers her towards a wealthy stage producer named Archer Fitzwirth, who denies being her father but brings out a self-retaliation to Sarah in her life as to who or what she wants to be in life. Quotes

Sarah Reeves Merrin: [in train, reflecting mostly to herself] Okay. Okay, this is a problem, because I don't wanna be the Marcia Brady of the new millennium. God, everyone who looks at me automatically assumes that... that I... have never done anything spontaneous, or... or.
[to complete stranger:]
Sarah Reeves Merrin: even a little bit naughty... or moderately illegal in my whole life. I am gonna go back home today and everything is gonna be exactly the same as it was when I left. I am gonna be exactly the same. You know, I didn't come ...

the (young) Jennifer Love Hewitt fan club here

Okay, you Americans, laugh at me. I'm just mad about Jennifer Love PARTY OF FIVE Hewitt, Sarah Reeves (ooh, wish I could tie a knot in Bailey's nose, altogether now: what a dweeb! what a dork! what an ingrate!), okay, so you get my general drift. I've also gone I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER and even (argh) I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER and of course HEARTBREAKERS and several other lesser known JLH entries, but when it came to THE CLIENT LIST, I was just less than impressed and posted several half-hearted episodic reviews.

You see, what I really want, is a (proper, legal, freely- available) DVD release for TIME OF YOUR LIFE. Which just happens to be ridiculed across America, with Google headlines like "Jennifer Love Hewitt having the time of her life, but America doesn't"

Hey, what the hell's wrong with it? Hey, rather, what's wrong with you lot?

Okay, looking at my downloaded first episode, I see that Sarah Reeves is this sweet young thing with not a snowball's chance in the summer to withstand the reality of mean old New York. She is generous and kind and way too open. It would be SO easy to ridicule her character and write her off as being way unrealistic for these tough modern times. It was 1999 back then, and the world escalated into a much worse place since those days.

But I could just look and look and look at sweet young Jennifer Love Hewitt. Was the complaint that the rest of THE PARTY OF FIVE cast was missed? That it was pointless without them? Hey, Sarah Reeves without that moaning dweeb, dumb nerdy Bailey! A plus in my book!

{I am currently posting quotes, and I'm, well, generally uploading the entire script, almost, because Jennifer Love Hewitt, America's darling, is in every scene, she is just the entire show, literally}
