Jack may be better off being unemployed
7 November 2013 | by (victoria b.c canada) – See all my reviews

Jack is spending far too much money on fancy food, and they simply can't afford it. Jack is jobless, so he sets out to find a job. He initially finds one as a model, but Jack is uncomfortable being a nudist. He finds a job as a salesman, selling Encyclopedias. Meanwhile, Mr. Roper is looking to eat baked beans, so he can win a trip to Hawaii. Mrs. Roper says he has no chance. This is another great episode from Three's Company. It has the old reliable jokes, such as Jack teasing Stanley with some fake gay antics, and Mrs. Roper bemoaning about her lack of sex life. I also liked the gag of Crissy being dangerous with a straight razor. One thing I noticed is how much fun the cast was having at this juncture. It's not like it was in later years, when Crissy left due to a contract dispute, and things got very strenuous. It's a very fun atmosphere. There is a scene where Jack is trying to practice his salesman speech with Janet, and Janet starts to flirt playfully. Jack cracks up just a tad, and you can tell they were having fun. There is also a great twist ending, which had me howling and clapping at the same time. I always enjoy how Stanley always grins to the camera after cracking a joke. They were really starting to venture at other places, besides where they live, and the Reagle Beagle. I also learned an important lesson. Never trust a woman to shave you!

Favorite quote: (Janet comes in with a straight razor) Jack: Oh, no. Not a straight razor! Hey, I just wanna shave, not commit suicide. Crissy: I'll shave you Jack. Jack: Are you kidding, what happens if you cut my ear off? Crissy: Well, then I'll say I'm sorry. Jack: Yeah, but I won't be able to hear you
