Finale of Three's Company which was broadcast in September
26 June 2011 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This episode was the final one for "Three's Company" and was shown in September instead of May, 1984 as a tie-in to the sequel "Three's a crowd". The series ending jettisoned four of the five cast members (Janet, Terry, Larry, Mr. Furley) and were to be replaced with Vicky, EZ, the divorced couple, Mr. & Ms. Bradford in the sequel. This episode was a continuation of a 2 part episode where Janet was married in the first part. In this episode, the final appearances for Janet, Terry, Larry, and Mr. Furley are shown as each exits the apartment near the end of the episode. Larry and Mr. Furley pause before leaving the apartment after saying their farewells to the roommates. Then Janet, Jack, and Terry leave for the last time and turn off the lights in the apartment. The scene ended with complete silence from the studio audience. It was a bittersweet ending to the TV series. You felt that the TV costars did not want the series to end. The episode ended with a tie-in to the "Threes a crowd" series which continued with only the Jack Tripper character. I watched the series sequel for the one year that it aired, but it lost much of the original series' comedic luster by focusing the comedic plot between Jack and Vicky's father (which got a bit tired and repetitious).
