Trivia

Kenneth More, who played Bader in Reach for the Sky (1956) was unable to attend due to the onset of Parkinson's disease. His wife, Angela Douglas, represented him and delivered a personal tribute on his behalf. A second extremely poignant message was delivered from Clarence House, home of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (Queen Consort during World War Two) to finish the programme. Such a message from a member of the British Royal Family was at that time extremely rare and left Bader visibly moved. See more »
