- Lieutenant John Miller: Uncuff the prisoner or I'll bring you up in insubordination charges and have your badge before the end of the night.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: You'd like that, wouldn't you?
- Lieutenant John Miller: Oh, sweetheart, that's your choice. I could care less.
- Off.: What are you doing?
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: He drew a knife and tried to stab me, so you shot him.
- Off.: I shot him because he killed my partner.
- Off.: Stay out of this.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: You shot a handcuffed prisoner.
- Off.: I know what I did and I don't care.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: I hate walking into a dark apartment.
- Off. Tyrone 'Ty' Davis Jr.: I'll get the lights.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: Knight in shining armor, huh?
- Off. Tyrone 'Ty' Davis Jr.: Yeah, I wish. It would've helped when that guy was kicking my ass.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: You saved my life.
- Off. Tyrone 'Ty' Davis Jr.: I could argue it was the other way around.
- Lt. Swersky: What happened?
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: Ask Officer Yokas.
- [to Yokas]
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: Tell him.
- Off.: He drew a knife and tried to stab Cruz, so I shot him.
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: So when I heard there was a shooting at the 5-5 tonight, how'd I know you were gonna be involved?
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: You didn't call to see if I was all right?
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: I went down to the morgue. I wanted to see this Donald Mann myself.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: I bet he looks good in a drawer.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: Are you accusing me of something?
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: Not yet, Sergeant.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: You know where I'll be.
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: Yeah, and I know where you're going.
- Lieutenant John Miller: [to Cruz as she's wearing a tank top] You working prostitution today?
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: What?
- Lieutenant John Miller: Are you going undercover as a whore?
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: No.
- Lieutenant John Miller: Then cover yourself up. My team will look professional at all times.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: Your team?
- Lieutenant John Miller: I'm Lieutenant Miller, your new boss.
- Off.: Fred is not getting the kids.
- Off. John 'Sully' Sullivan: Yeah, my sister swore that she was gonna get full custody of her kids too, then the judge cited her hectic schedule and gave the kids to my lousy ex-brother-in-law.
- Off.: Was your ex-brother-in-a-law a drunk?
- Off. John 'Sully' Sullivan: No, but from what I hear, Fred used to be a drunk, and you're still a cop. So if I was you, I would take this promotion and get myself a good lawyer.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: What the hell was that about?
- Lieutenant John Miller: What did I tell you this afternoon? You do nothing unless I authorize you to do it.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: Ignore crime that's happening right in front of me?
- Lieutenant John Miller: That's right. Until I tell you to do something about it.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: Hell no.
- Lieutenant John Miller: You wanna know why I'm here? Why this Anti-Crime unit in the 5-5?
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: Yeah, I wanna know why. Let's hear.
- Lieutenant John Miller: Because you're out of control. Your whole team's out of control. You're a renegade. Overcompensating for the fact that you're a woman and a minority hire.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: A minority hire.
- Lieutenant John Miller: The days of you running cowboy over the street are over. We're going back to the basics: pros, decoys, pickpockets, guns, and only if I tell you to do something about it, and if you got a problem with that, your exit paperwork is in my desk, filled out, ready for you to sign.
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: Don't think you're gonna scare me off this job.
- Lieutenant John Miller: I don't give you that much thought.
- Off. Tyrone 'Ty' Davis Jr.: Don't tell me about corruption. We're trying to make things right, and if getting the really bad people off the street means I gotta fudge the truth a little bit every once in a while. I can live with that.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: Do you know how many brothers are in jail because of cops with that same mentality?
- Off. Tyrone 'Ty' Davis Jr.: And how many brothers and sisters get hurt or killed everyday by people who should be in jail but they're not because they got around the system? Tell me that.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: I'm not gonna have your back on this.
- Off. Tyrone 'Ty' Davis Jr.: You don't have to.
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: What do you got?
- Off. Sasha Monroe: Nothing.
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: Well, why the hell'd you call me?
- Off. Sasha Monroe: I think I may need to change precincts. Someone warned Cruz there may be a plant in the 5-5.
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: They say it was you?
- Off. Sasha Monroe: No, not really. She thinks it may be her new boss.
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: Cruz sort of trusts you. We're not gonna get this sort of opportunity again.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: Yeah, but they suspect.
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: Detective Monroe, I need to know what happened up on that roof. Sergeant Cruz murdered Donald Mann. Now there are risks that come with the job. You knew that when you signed up for IAB.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: What if it happened the way they say it did? Yokas saved Cruz's life.
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: I saw the body. Mann had handcuff marks on his wrists. Do you know how hard it is to pull a knife with handcuffs on? This is not about a free cup of coffee. This is about a murderer.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: I get it.
- Capt. Cathel 'C.T.' Finney: I want her. Don't call me until you have her.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: What are you doing?
- Off. Tyrone 'Ty' Davis Jr.: I'm getting the conviction.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: Theirs or ours?
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: This is prison we're talking about. It's murder. You'll never see your family again.
- Off.: What the hell do you care what happens to me?
- Sgt. Maritza Cruz: He started the day trying to put you, me, and Bosco out of commission. Now, you do what you're thinking and he's got two out of three. It's not about you or me. It's about not letting him win. Now say it! He drew the knife and tried to stab me.
- Lt. Swersky: Welcome back to all my mandatory 72-hour vacationers. I trust that you used the time to brush up on your summons skills because that's what One-PP is screaming for now.
- Off. John 'Sully' Sullivan: Nobody shoot at me out there, maybe I'll bring em one.
- Lt. Swersky: Let's hope the shooting is done for a long, long, time.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: So we have a car theft from an uncooperative victim?
- Off. Tyrone 'Ty' Davis Jr.: Probably.
- Off. Sasha Monroe: And a teenager I chased in front of a car.
