Looking as if they filmed the rehearsal rather than the finished item, this meanders along far too slowly till the rather obvious conclusion.
Ordered by his superior to pick some items up from his bombed home, Frankie is arrested as a suspected looter. With the firing squad as his final destination. The aforementioned superior officer has amnesia due to a heavy book falling on his head....look, I don't make the plots up, just review them! Anyway, Frankie has to escape from his cell and restore the memory to clear himself. Cue spot of cross-dressing and yet another knock on the head and all well that ends well.
But just with no laughs along the way that is. Jokes well past their sell-by dates arrive in slow succession. I was expecting the old joke of Frankie's from better comedy days, "Don't kill me! I plead for my life!" "You're a miserable pleader." Actually, that would have been more welcome than the fare on display here.
Very poor indeed.
