Unfunny by Searchlight

This one co-stars a goat as the regimental mascot and it's hard to figure out exactly who the dumb animals are in this episode. The goat is only around for a few sight gags which aren't funny and to chew up some letters which revolve around what can only be loosely termed a plot.

This provides an excuse for Frankie to get involved in a pistol duel with a French officer (played by John Challis, better known as Boycie in 'Only Fools & Horses). For no apparent reason, shots are fired and instead of been shot dead by the French crack marksman, Frankie is back at the bunker, preparing a chicken?! Cue joke about been a 'plucker.' Was it worth it all?

Incredibly bad jokes abound, the French officer is so short sighted he thinks a guardsman's hat is a man. Oh, my aching sides..laugh? I never started. Carried over from the previous episode is the line about 'FANYS' (First Aid Nursing Yeomenry), 'as in we must keep our FANYS warm in this cold weather,' move over Oscar Wilde, you master of wit and ready repartee.

Absolutely terrible in the first degree.
