When Anne's friends are trying to come up with a pseudonym, Sharon suggests using "Theda Bara". They all seem to recognize the name but reject it. Theda was a famous actress during the silent film era who retired from making movies just before talkies came into existence. Most of her films have been lost, mostly due to a studio fire and neglect.
This unaired pilot was finally aired in April 1996 on Nick at Nite. After this airing, the unaired pilot was added to the show's syndication package.
The title is from a quote in the Shakespeare play Romero and Juliet: "What's in a name. That which we call a rose, By any other name would smell as sweet."
The credit "fashions by Mr. Mort", refers to the fashion house of the mid-1960s run by Mortimer Goldman.
