- Kelso accidentally took the police department toy drive box, which were donated gifts for needy kids. The boys want to return the box, but then notice that the box has some really cool toys and decide to set them up. Fez does not feel right about taking toys that belong to needy kids. Eric begs to keep some as Red never gave him any toys. All he ever got from Red was just a raincoat and a hose-down to test it. The gang's resolution to opening 'just one' package leaves nothing unwrapped. The gang spends the entire day and evening playing with the toys and start getting cranky as some of them are broke.
The girls are flattered when Kitty invites them to help out the stuck-up 'Ladies of Point Place' (LOPPs) with their height of the year, the Christmas party. The girls are angry because the boys couldn't care less. Jackie is furious Hyde even reneges on his promise to attend in favor of boyish basement toy-games. Jackie thought Hyde was maturing, since he is out of high school, has a job, and even takes off his sunglasses when he is inside the house. She blames Kelso for Hyde's regressive behavior.
Posh Patty Ryals (Carolyn Hennesy) marches in to take charge instead of Kitty because of an incident in 1973 (Kitty spiked the wrong punch-bowl). Patty criticizes everything Kitty has done, including the decorations. 'Santa' Bob fondly remembers dating Patty. Red reports to Kitty that the toys meant to be given away to kids have been stolen. Kitty is panicky as she doesn't want another fiasco on her hands. Getting the gifts to the party was the only other job that Patty left her.
Red rushes back to the basement to get some help and catches the boys playing with the stolen toys. Red reveals that the toys were meant for the needy kids at the LOPPs Christmas Party. With rare seasonal mildness (Red admits that actually got good toys for Eric for Christmas but broke them by playing with them himself) lets them bring the toys to the community center, forcing him and Kitty to stall.
Red reads the kids a story from the Vietnam war, risking permanent emotional scarring. The guys cannot bring the presents in through the front door as that would expose Kitty. They get Eric to jump through a chimney on the roof, but then sneak the toys in through the back door.
The guys set up the toys just before Patty lifts the curtains. The gifts are a massive hit and Kitty is elected to run the Valentine's party. Apparently, the chimney on the roof went into the bakery next door and Eric is stuck there. Donna goes to rescue Eric.
Jackie tells Hyde that he cannot keep blowing her off for toys. Hyde says that he is only trying to have some fun before he settles down and his life comes to a dead end. Jackie is disappointed that Hyde is not more excited about his life with her. Patty leaves with Bob.
Red gets Eric a cool toy for Christmas and plays it himself and breaks it, before even giving it to Eric.
