So it appears that Dick has chosen to become Slade's apprentice in order to save his friends. Talk about commitment, he's willing to give up being a Titan, and become a super-criminal so his friends won't die. The episode mainly focuses around Dick's obsession with Slade. He can't accept the fact that he and Slade are so similar. No matter how hard he fights it, all roads lead back to Slade, and now that his friend's lives are on the line, he really has no choice but to join him. Now, I know that the Titans will find away out of this, I remember watching this episode as a kid. But, the important question is, "How do they get out?".
