I have long been a big fan of the old "Taxi" TV series, and am currently re-watching all the old episodes on DVD.

In this episode Judd Hirsch as Alex Reiger picks up a man and a woman, and it is soon apparent that the woman simply wants to get away from the man. Not that he is dangerous, he is just an idiot. So Alex takes him to the garage to talk to him and possibly assure him that he is just awkward.

Jeffrey Tambor is the guest star as Congressman Walter Griswald. While in the garage he is introduced to Elaine Nardo. They go out and, in spite of his awkwardness, Elaine sort of takes a liking to him and they start to see each other regularly.

However soon Walter wants to push things to get too serious and Elaine has to back him off.

Not a great episode, but has some interesting moments.
