60's TV at its very best.

George Vaclavic publicly criticises Jimmy Skala, detailing them that the organisation is rotten to the core, but a quick witted Skala quickly silenced Vaclavic, who soon finds himself up on an attempted murder charge.

I wondered initially just how this could run as a two part story, after it I was left with no doubts, this worked particularly well. It's a great second episode, they really did maintain the quality.

The outcome wasn't the one that I was expecting, but it worked very well, a real tragedy.

I'm surprised at how little screen time McNally actually has here, he's great when he's visible, but it's the supporting cast that are leading and running with this one.

You can't help but feel for Vaclavic, he really is being strategically manipulated, and used as a porn in the game, this story works so well because of Brian Keith's terrific performance.

9/10.

Edge of corruption

You find here the following of the episode I commented yesterday, still starring Jack Warden as the union mob leader; and Brian Keith as the good guy, former union member, who bravely decided to testify against the syndicate. It begins with a court room sequence, the continuity of the previous episode. I really crave for Brian Keith's character, he is very poignant, giving here a top performance as a repentant union member who searches for redemption. This TV show has given us many terrific performances all over the episodes, even for supporting characters. And I repeat that there are not so many fight scenes, but what for, if story are solid enough? It still remains brutal to me. You can count on that.

The Organizers: Part 2

Maybe these days people might be more cynical and prone to watch their bag if they are going to turn on their friends and associates.

George Vaclavic appears to be more naive as he goes head to head with Jerry Scala. This is after chair of the committee Earl Gilmore tells George to get a gun.

As George tries to take his branch away from Skala's control. He finds just how far Skala's tentacles spreads. Judges, lawyers, police. More importantly Jack Murray has turned on George. Skala was right when he told his father Eddie, that his son is a coward.

A lot of melodrama, some of it is influenced by the activities of McCarthyism. How quickly you can lose friends, a job and status. More importantly how even people you trust can turn against you.
