A man accused of armed robbery with the killing of two people is discharged after being in court. Why such a revolting judgment? That's why our columnist Mc Nally decides to go to the city where it occurred to clear this up. The solution may be at the top level of the local politicians. Corruption seems very existing in this city, with a rather "weird" judge. A rotten one?
Frank Lovejoy plays this judge, this offbeat judge. He is warned that the columnist asks for taking action to the governor against him. This evil (?) and ambivalent character is exquisite here, giving an impressive performance. As usual, not many action sequences, for such a tale. But what's the use?
