Though many stars would appear more than once in tales throughout the series' long run, Jack Weston is the only actor to reprise the same role from a previous episode. In Dahl's original source material for this and A Dip in the Pool (1979), though the main protagonist is called Botibol, the characters and stories are apparently unrelated. These television adaptions appear to treat them as the same character however, meaning Mr. Botibol apparently somehow survived his unfortunate twist of fate in the previous story.
The only episode in all of the series' that does not end with the usual theme...although The Boy Who Talked With Animals ends with a "steel band" arrangement of the Ron Grainer theme.
The first of two appearances by Allan Corduner, the other being in S9 E2, The Colonel's Lady (1988) where he also plays a shop assistant.
