Two years before The Bill
7 November 2016 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Susan Penhaligon plays W.P.C. Mary Bryan, who as a decoy (in tight and hot silver pants may I say) hunts for a murderer.

This was screened in 1982, just three years after Thatcher won the keys at 10 Downing Street, and it's fascinating watching Tales of the Unexpected from this era...the cars, fashions (the tight and hot silver pants), the maroon leather jackets, the hair styles, the curtains, the television sets, the pubs, the music score, the terminology. This was two years before The Bill premiered by the way.

Anyway, things get a bit tense towards the end as Mary (who is followed by her colleagues), gets into a conversation with the suspected murderer, and decides to walk with him into the secluded park at night.
