A rookie outlaw, Al Porter, holds up a stage for $10,000. Jim waiting for the money to arrive decides to go after him alone after learning about the holdup, but requires the outlaw's assistance to drive off an attack by vengeful Indians.
A stage is held up by a lone outlaw, Al Porter, which is carrying a strongbox with $10,000 in it. The shotgun takes a shot at the outlaw but is instead wounded in the shoulder by a single return shot. The stage continues to town where Jim Hardie is waiting with the depot agent for it. Upon learning it was robbed, he decides to go alone after the robber as a posse would be seen. About four hours behind the robber he finds his trail which was not well hidden. Shortly after finding the empty strongbox, he comes upon the robber camping after having picked up a second horse. Porter may be green but he is a thinker and refuses to give up trying to escape. However, Porter stirred up the local Sioux when he stole the second horse from them. He and Hardie are now trapped with little ammo. Written by
