Storyline

Jim Hardie leaves a riverboat to take a carriage to the estate of Bertram La Tour. There Mr. La Tour in a wheelchair greets him with a strongbox and a list of its contents. He has asked Wells Fargo personally for Jim to escort the strongbox containing the dowry of $200,000 for his granddaughter, Michelle Bovarde, to Baton Rouge where she is to be married. The strongbox contents everything Mr. La Tour owns including the deed to his estate. Jim must also escort and protect Michelle on the trip. He initially has reservations about the extra work but upon seeing her, he agrees to the request. After they leave the reason for Mr. La Tour's worry arrives - his son Roel La Tour who needs the money. Written by Anonymous
