Storyline

Jim Hardie finally gets a vacation after five years so he heads home to his ranch at Pleasant Valley where he has a new colt from his racing mare that may be a fine race horse in the future. Before he can settle in a telegram arrives ordering him back to work as the driver and guard were killed on the Rutherford run with the saw mill payroll stolen. Hardie is riding on the stage caring the replacement funds with Dr. Alice MacCauley and a man going by the name Harry Edwards. The same men try holding up the stage again. When Hardie attempts to intervene, Edwards pulls a gun on him. Hardie is able to force Edwards off the speeding stage. Hardie is able to wound one man while the guard is hit. The stage makes it through. The female doctor has lost her husband and is returning east as she is fed up with the west. She declines requests to help the pregnant wife of the Wells Fargo agent but is forced by Edwards who is really The El Paso Kid to help his wounded brother after he kidnaps her. ...
