Only semi-successful
17 June 2015 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Unfortunately the bad stuff outweighs the good in this semi-successful episode of TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE. It stars cult favourite Robert Forster (JACKIE BROWN) as a suburban husband who's desperate to have a baby of his own. His only problem is that he's impotent. However, when he hears a story that the local neighbourhood milkman has the power to make wishes come true, he's interested...

It's not a bad premise, if I'm truthful, but the execution is less than impressive and there's too much of the broad comedy to make this a decent tale. Forster is excellent value but there's a tendency towards overacting from the other actors, particularly the actress playing his wife. The climax is odd, to say the least.
