A taxi driver is found dead outside a Jewler's shop and the team discover links to the underworld.
The Houston family is returning from a funeral when they discover the body of a taxi driver in his car outside the family business. DCI Matt Burke investigates and discovers a link between the victim and the daughter who has just been buried after an overdose.
Suspicion falls on the father, Davie Houston who appears to be involved in money laundering for Archie McGregor, who is played brilliantly by Murray Ewan. When Davie Houston turns up dead suspicion then falls on Marc Houston, the brother, who has been kicked out of the army for having an uncontrollable temper.
This is a pretty good episode of Taggart and Matt Burke has filled the large shoes of Mark McMannus adequately. There are some lighter moments with DC Stuart Fraser as he tries to curry favour with the boss.
Watch it if you are a Taggart fan.
