Sam and Dean introduce themselves as Agents Ford and Hamill, the surnames of Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill, both main actors in the Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) series of films.
Jared Padalecki's hand was partially broken while filming this part of the TV show.
In addition to the Star Wars reference of Dean and Sam claiming to be agents Ford and Hamill, Andrea's son is named Lucas, a reference to Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) creator George Lucas.
Same lake scene appeared in another Jensen Ackles movie, "Devour."

Dead In The Water is the name of a song by Hawthorne Heights.
Amy Acker is one of four stars from the CBS drama Person of Interest to appear in Supernatural. She was proceeded by Sarah Shahi in "Pilot" (Seas. 1, Ep. 1), Sterling K. Brown (2006-07), and Leslie Odom, Jr. in "Season Seven, Time for a Wedding!" (Seas. 7, Ep. 8).

When the sheriff tells Sam and Dean that he will arrest them or they can leave town, Sam says, "Door number two sounds good." This is a reference to the TV game show "Let's Make a Deal" (1960's to present).
