- Jax-Ur: [sniffs the air] Fossil fuel engines.
- Mala: Primitive, aren't they?
- Jax-Ur: But so was Krypton, centuries ago. I see great potential for these beings, under my guiding hand. We'll begin our conquest as soon as my powers are up to yours.
- Mala: And after we've gotten rid of that one little obstacle.
- Jax-Ur: The son of Jor-El... almighty Rao has brought me full circle, Mala. Giving me a planet to rule, and a chance for revenge.
- Jax-Ur: So this is Kal-El. Your father was a clever man, though I see you share his poor judgment in choosing sides.
- Superman: I'm glad to disappoint you.
- Mala: [wrenches his head up] You will face the general when he addresses you!
- Jax-Ur: It seems a shame to kill the only other survivor of Krypton. I'd offer you a place in our new order, but something tells me you'd turn it down.
- Superman: I guess you're not as dumb as you look!
- [last lines]
- Superman: "Fortress of Solitude"? It's not exactly lonely up here. Though I am the only Kryptonian. And lately, I think it's best that it stay that way.
- Professor Hamilton: If anyone deserves to have his own fortress of solitude, it's you.
- Superman: "Fortress of solitude"?
- Lois Lane: And the fate of the world hangs on questions I can answer?
- Professor Hamilton: Yes, Ms. Lane. Tell me about Superman. Was he wearing the anti-kryptonite suit when they sent him into the Zone?
- Lois Lane: Yeah, but...
- Professor Hamilton: Was the suit damaged at all?
- Lois Lane: It looked a little wrinkled. What does it matter?
- Professor Hamilton: We treated the suit with a traceable radioactive coating. We realized we couldn't lock on to the homing signal to the Phantom Zone, but we could retrieve our own signal once it was sent in.
- Lois Lane: You can get Superman out of there?
- Professor Hamilton: If I can find his signal... wait! There he is! Superman, can you hear me?
- Superman: Professor?
- Professor Hamilton: Hang on. We're going to try to pull you back.
- Professor Hamilton: [seeing the animals in the Fortress of Solitude] Astounding. I could spend a career studying any one of them.
- Superman: I'm sure you could, but right now we should hurry.
- Professor Hamilton: Oh. Yes, of course.
- Lois Lane: Coming through!
- Clark Kent: Something going on I should know about?
- Lois Lane: Where have you been, Kent, on another planet? Mala's let a friend out of the Phantom Zone, and they're tearing up the streets. It's only on every channel.
- Superman: [carrying Hamilton to the Arctic] Almost there, Professor. Now, hang on. Here comes the fun part.
- [he dives into the water]
- Mala: Here's your brave warrior, and dressed for battle, I see.
- Superman: The suit's to protect me from this.
- [he takes out a piece of kryptonite, and she begins to feel its effects]
- Superman: You all right, Lois?
- Lois Lane: Jax-Ur snuck off when they saw you coming. I don't think he feels up to your strength yet.
- Superman: [giving the kryptonite to her] Here. Keep her covered.
- Lois Lane: Love to.
- Perry White: I'm paying a roomful of crack reporters, and not one has a clue where Jax-Ur and Mala could be? Those guys don't exactly blend in, people.
- Lois Lane: Hey, it's not like you can just look them up in the White Pages.
- [Jax-Ur and Mala smash a hole in the wall]
- Lois Lane: Although, I think I'd call this a lead.
- Brainiac: Welcome to Krypton.
- Superman: Brainiac, I'd like you to show us how to build a Phantom Zone projector.
- Brainiac: One moment, please.
- Superman: [to Emil, as the Kryptonian language scrolls by] Better get out your pad and pencil.
- Brainiac: Interdimensional teleportation operates on the principle that each dimension in the cosmos vibrates at its own unique frequency.
- Superman: How's it coming, Professor?
- Professor Hamilton: You're just in time. We're ready to proceed.
- [as he turns on the Phantom Zone projector and fires it at a potted plant, it doesn't work]
- Professor Hamilton: Ah, so close.
- Superman: What's wrong?
- Professor Hamilton: We're missing a crystal that vibrates at the Phantom Zone's frequency. It's the homing signal to the Zone. Without it, we can't send anything in or get anything out, but the crystal simply doesn't exist on Earth.
- Superman: Keep trying. Jax-Ur's getting stronger, and they've got the projector. Somehow, we've got to even the odds.
- Jax-Ur: [trapping Superman in the Phantom Zone] That was almost too easy.
- [pulling Mala to her feet]
- Jax-Ur: Feeling better?
- Mala: [glancing at Lois] There are so many ways to kill her, I can hardly choose.
- Jax-Ur: No. Let her live. She's a reporter. Let her tell her world that Superman is gone... forever.
