awesome

"Maddie Checks In" is awesome because it is mostly about being yourself. I like it because it doesn't tell you to be yourself and not care about what other people think. In the show, Maddie tries to be someone she's not to get Jason to like her, and, sure, Jason did like her for the person she wasn't, but he liked her even more for the person she really was. Usually, when a show is about being yourself, they show that the other person doesn't like them because of who the person really is, and that just encourages children to be someone they're not. I believe that if the writers of a show want the show to be about being yourself, they should show the advantages besides not having to sneak around.
