Four sailors and a girl
7 May 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

****SPOILERS*** With corrupt jewelry store owner Marty Long,Tom Cacciotti, planning to check out of town to Denver leaving his live-in girlfriend Nancy Mellon, played by the watery eyed Meg Foster, high and dry gets a surprise visit from a number of his friends US Navy men Beau Doug Pete & J.W Flowers, Greg Mullaway James Woods Philip Burns & Charles Weldon, who want the $100,000.00 he's holding for them that's the result of a stolen jade caper in the orient that they pulled off a number of months ago when they were on shore leave.

Having already stuffed the money up the apartment chimney stack Tom is in no condition to give the boys the money needing it for a down payment for his jewelry store in Denver and ends up getting his brains bashed in by the psycho and mentally unstable Doug killing him. With Nancy, who was hiding in a closet, seen fleeing the scene of the crime the sailors are now certain that she was working with her now late boyfriend in keeping the money hidden from them. With Inspector Keller. Michael Douglas, on the case while his partner Let. Det. Mike Stone, Karl Malden, was at the time doing his laundry it was up to him to track down Nancy and get her to reveal, in being an eye witness, who murdered her boyfriend who was about to dump her that double dealing heel Marty Long.

***SPOILERS*** The actions then goes from the streets of San Francisco to the Redwood Forest in Northern California with Inspector Keller and the four sailors chasing Nancy in order to find, in Keller's case, who murdered her boyfriend and just were, in the sailors case, where the $100,000.00 is hidden. It was in fact Let. Det. Stone, after he finished his laundry, who's bloodhound like bulb nose had sniffed out the stolen cash in Marty's apartment which made the reason for the sailors trying to catch Nancy, who had no idea where the money was, totally meaningless. As it later turned Nancy ended up saving Inspector Keller's life who was shot in the behind by one of the sailors and thus prevented any more bloodshed from happening. This lead to the remaining and surviving criminal sailors, who were a disgrace to all US servicemen & women, to be captured by the local police or park rangers lead by Sheriff Eric "The Red" Canney played by the red as a beet Kenneth Tobey.
