**SPOILERS** Coming back after a four year absence the Demon Asmoth has a score to settle with defrocked minister John Strange, Richard Coyle, who's fiancée Helen Baxter, Kerry Elkins, he murdered back in 1999.
It was back then that Strange escaped with his life in his battle with Asmoth. This lead to Strange suffering a massive physical and emotional breakdown that almost had him committed. It also lead Strange to dedicate the rest of his life in fighting demons among us that in the end had him defrocked from the church. Now in 2003 Strange is again confronted with the Demon Asmoth who's using the poor and helpless, and deeply in debt, among us to do his dirty work. In having them dig up corpses from the local cemeteries as well as attack and murder people on the streets to eat in order to stratify his gargantuan appetite for both blood and human flesh!
It's with the help of his mentor Father Bernard, Tom Baker, that Strange realizes the dangers he's facing in the now emergence of Asmoth who's determined to put Strange away-by killing him-and out of the demon fighting business. We also get to see just what part the mysterious and shadowy Canon Black, Ian Richardson, has to do in all this in him always throwing up road blocks, or running interference, in defense of demons like Asmoth whom Strange is trying to put out of commission.
***SPOILERS*** As usual it's Nurse Jude Atkins, Samantha Janus, who finally tracks down the truth about John Strange, who had since become her boyfriend, strange behavior in the fact that he's been keeping the truth about himself and Asmoth as well as the late Helen Baxter from her. It's in Strange trying to take on the Demon Asmoth single-handed that leads to the brutal beating that he gets at the end of the movie! We, as well as a stunned Nurse Atkins, get to see the real reasons behind Canon Black's sneaky and divisive actions, in protecting demons like Asmoth, throughout the TV series! And it's now up to Strange, if he can recover from the battering he's gotten, to finally gets his act together and not only fight the demons among us but those who are secretly allied with them here on earth!
