Harold almost ties the knot.
Sleepin_Dragon5 August 2019
It's more of a surprise then to see Harold made it as far as the altar, then the heart breaking events that followed.

It's quite a sad affair, as once again we see Harold's hopes and dreams crushed. Just what exactly did the old man say to the bride to be, if it was him that is.

I love that we get two family members, George and Frida, both of whom would later return in on what a beautiful mourning, a shame neither appeared more.

Several actors were recycled throughout the show's time, Joan Newell and Mollie Sugden would each appear in other episodes.

It isn't the funniest, it's more a tragedy, although the laughs do come when a grief stricken Harold lashes out at the greedy family. 7/10

And Afterwards at...
Prismark1013 March 2017
It is the start of the fourth series and Harold is about to get hitched at last. Even though his son is approaching middle age, Albert is not happy even though Harold has met all the conditions he wanted such as staying with them.

However as his bride to be Melanie walks down the alter she gets the jitters and much to Albert's happiness she jilts Harold leaving him distraught. Later on as Harold drowns his sorrows his relatives turn up wanting their wedding presents back.

Lots of pathos in this episode as Harold tries to overcome his shock but Albert can barely conceal his pleasure at times apart from arguing with Melanie's mother and later his own siblings.
