A mistake by Cody means that he ends up with a middle-aged mail-order bride. Frank and Carol are getting fed up with the many petty demands of the kids. Karen's attempt to be a country singing star doesn't quite go as planned.

Storyline

Frank and Carol become fed up with the kids constantly asking them to do everything for them and tell them that from now on, they can do it all themselves and they dare not ask for help. That directive is put to the test when Brendan needs to have a permission slip signed to go on a soccer club trip to a Green Bay Packers game. Written by Brian Rathjen <briguy_52732@yahoo.com>

His last shining moment
5 January 2014 | by (Richardson, Texas) – See all my reviews

This episode marked the last shining moment for Brendan Lambert. When baby sister Lilly was born, he was decreased so bad that he only appeared for @ least thirty seconds with one or two lines.

And when the show moved to CBS, he was completely forgotten & was discontinued. I felt so sorry for Josh Byrne, that I quit watching after the CBS move.

If he had played guitar in a band, played football or even had a girlfriend, it would've saved his character from being a misfit. Alas, he joins Chuck Cunningham, Judy Winslow & Henry Finnerty in "The Island of Misfit Sitcom Characters!"
