Nifty episode
22 December 2011 | by (The Last New Jersey Drive-In on the Left) – See all my reviews

Colonel E.W. Bramwell (superbly played with gung-ho gusto by James Smith) gets awakened after spending 50 years in cryogenic slumber. However, Bramwell still believes that Earth is at war with the Raiders. Dante (an excellent Michael Pare) plans to use Bramwell's legendary status with the Raiders as a means to find his son Travis. While this episode brims with tension and culminates in a jolting surprise conclusion, it's the mad and dangerous character of consummate soldier Bramwell that keeps things humming; he's not only as much a threat to himself as he is to everyone else, but also pitiable and moving as a man out of sync with his current time who feels deep regret about losing his big battle with the Raiders. Moreover, Sam Loggin contributes a nicely sparky performance as Elektra, a scrappy and sharp-tongued lass who runs guns for the Raiders. The opening poker game between Dante, Lucretia (the always fine Claudette Roche), and Percy (super work by Tanya Allen) provides some warmth and humor while a lovely conversation between Dante and Percy rates as a definite touching highlight.
