Did You Know?

Plot holes: The premise of the main conflict in this episode is that the gate only transports whole objects. Previously established gate physics would indicate otherwise. Examples include the MALPs arm being used to obtain intelligence through an open wormhole and Colonel O'Neill "holding the door open" by keeping his hand on the off world side of the gate when the Asgard came to reclaim their technology from the rogue NSA operation.See more »
Dr. Peter Grodin:The Stargate transmits matter into discrete units... the front half of the ship cannot rematerialize till the whole ship is crossed into the event horizon. The Stargate is essentially waiting for the continuous component, that's meaning the Jumper and everything inside to enter completely before it can transport them...
Dr. Elizabeth Weir:[Beckett stares then lookes at Weir] He says the Gate only sends things through in one piece.

The SG Atlantis Writers Made 38 Minutes Seem a Lifetime, 7 November 2015
Author: fcabanski from United States

*** This review may contain spoilers ***

The Wraith are awake. They're hungry. The whole galaxy is in danger.

But we don't get to see any of that. We see a bug stuck to Shepherd, and we see a ship pushed through a Stargate.

If the show got any slower, it would be going in reverse. The SG-1 producers/writers usually followed big episodes with meaningless, boring episodes. One big reason was saving money on effects, sets, and costumes. By the time Atlantis rolled along, the producers/writers had perfected the technique.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the Wraith featured prominently in this episode, or at least their fighting method featured. Maybe the Wraith bored the original Atlanteans to death.
