- McKay finds a way to send a message to Earth, leaving space for personal messages. Sheppard and Teyla are off to spy on the Wraith fleet approaching Atlantis.
- Atlantis is preparing for the arrival of the hive ships. McKay has an idea to tell Earth about the imminent danger. He thinks he's able to generate enough power to keep the stargate open for 1.3 seconds, enough to send a substantial amount of data. There's even enough space to include personal video messages and Ford takes the task upon him to record them. Meanwhile Sheppard and Teyla are off to spy on the Wraith ships. On a planet Teyla has visited before, she warns a friend, Orin, about the culling that will soon take place there. She promises him a rescue with the puddle jumper and Sheppard reluctantly agrees. The two find out the Wraith force approaching Atlantis is even more powerful than expected and after a short revisit to the planet, they find themselves locked out from returning with the stargate. They are forced to watch the horrors of a massive culling.—Arnoud Tiele (imdb@tiele.nl)
- McKay found a way to send massive information to earth, so Ford is in charge of recording personal messages for the home front, full of flashbacks, fearful they may all perish when the Wraith fleet arrives, which attacks an unprecedented number of planets for 'human harvest'. Sheppard and Teyla visit one of those, where she -who eagerly chose it- knows one Orin suspiciously well, insisting they wait to evacuate him with family, which she promises but Sheppard must render conditional on time, initially meaning no, yet he ends up backtracking, and taking in refuges to the rafters while the Wraith already raid their village, relying solely on the invisibility cloak.—KGF Vissers
- With the Wraith battle fleet fast approaching, the Stargate team begins to make their preparations. Teyla and Sheppard go on a recon mission but are trapped on a planet when the Wraith take control of the gate. Their recon mission turns into a rescue mission for Teyla's friend Orin and his family. Back on Atlantis, the principals record video messages to their families. For Elizabeth Weir, it involves a particularly sad task.—garykmcd
- With a brief opportunity to send a data transmission to Earth, members of the Atlantis expedition compose video messages home to their friends and loved ones.
