  • Stargate Command is visited by a beautiful Tok'ra, Anise, who needs their help in testing an alien weapons technology she has discovered. The weapons, armbands affixed to the writs and forearm, belonged to a now extinct society and enhance the wearers natural abilities. O'Neill, Carter and Daniel Jackson all volunteer for the experiment and they seem to work as promised. When Doctor Fraiser expresses some concern over their increased body temperatures they find however that once attached, the armbands cannot be removed. When Anise suggests SG-1 go on a mission to test the weapons in real combat, General Hammond realizes the extent to which they have been manipulated.

  • The SGC receives the Tok'ra Anise that brings three alien devices that they have found to be used around the fist and she explains that the device increases the strength and the speed of the user. However, the artifact does not work with her race and she would like to experiment it in Earthlings. Jack, Sam and Daniel accepts to wear the device and soon they realize that they have increased abilities. Then Anise explains that the Goa'uld are building a powerful spacecraft capable to subdue other races in the universe and Jack, Sam and Daniel plot a scheme to destroy the spaceship using their new acquired abilities. Meanwhile Dr. Fraiser finds that the device releases a virus to increase the abilities of the user and the body of the human race is not prepared for that. Further, the artifact cannot be removed from their arms. But Jack, Sam and Daniel decide to go anyway to the planet as per their plan. However, when they arrive at the Goa'uld facilities, they learn that they have just lost their abilities and the place will blow-up in a few minutes. What will happen to them?

  • The Tok'ra archaeologist Anise arrives at SGC, looking for humanoids without a symbiont to test her recent find from the extinct Atanik race, the bracelets with fabulous power to enhance the wearer's physical, sensory and mental abilities, which Goa'uld and Tok'ra searched for since centuries in vain, fearing them to be a mere legend. SG-1, except Jaffa Teal'c, gets the arrogantly imposed role of guinea-pigs, at first reluctantly, but all three soon enjoy becoming much stronger, faster, smarter... As Dr. Fraser soon fears, this comes at a price, not unlike substance addiction. Anise didn't even mention the virus which starts the effects, and it seems impossible to remove the bracelets, but the enhanced powers consume more energy then the human body can produce safely: their general health is bound to deteriorate dramatically. To the general's anger the Tok'ra now insist to use all SG-1 for an urgent mission on a planet where Apophis's forces must be countered after their infiltrators failed, clearly planned in advance. While SG-1 is there, Fraser and Anise conclude the body produces an antigen which counters the virus, thus undoing their enhanced powers, as they will find out during the dangerous mission...
