Storyline

SG-1 is providing security for three scientists who are conducting research on a far-off planet. Goa'uld warlord Khonsu arranges to capture the SG-1 team and O'Neill tells Jay Felder, nominally the group's leader, to use the gate and head back to SGC. Felder is quite enamored with SG-1, admiring their exploits and daring-do. Rather than follow O'Neill's orders, Felder and another scientist, Simon Coombs, transport themselves up to the Goa'uld ship. What the scientists don't know is that SG-1's capture is a ruse to allow Khonsu, who is actually a Tok'ra, to pass on information. O'Neill is quite annoyed with the two scientists but their presence proves useful in the end. Written by garykmcd

Trivia

John Billingsley appears as a nerdish scientist who is a trekkie. He talks about "worshiping at the altar of Roddenberry", and at one point when it appears he will die he says "I might as well be wearing a red shirt" (a reference to Star Trek (1966)). Billingsley played Dr. Phlox in Star Trek: Enterprise (2001). A further visual cue is a Klingon bat'leth (sword of honor) on the back wall of Khonsu's (Adam Harrington's) throne room. See more »

Have you ever wondered how it felt to be one of the anonymous people who work *with* the now-legendary team but never get to see real action? What would YOU do if real action suddenly sprung up and you had the opportunity to show off to your personal heroes? Unfortunately heroes are not always easy to work with. Especially when they have O'Neill's temper, and don't really plan on having you tag along on a top-secret, high-risk mission.

I think this is the 2nd funniest episode in Stargate SG-1 so far (after the unbeatable "Window of Opportunity"). There is a lot of action, but the best part is the constant humour and self-derision. It would rate even better if a few of the scientists' grimaces were not a bit over the top.

Oh, and I just love Tealc's slightly embarrassed expression when he admits to keeping track of how many times SG-1 has saved the world!
