Storyline

Anubis's superweapon has been put out of commission, but Yu's fleet has been diverted to the other side of the galaxy by Yu himself, allowing Anubis to escape into hyperspace. Jonas has been captured by Anubis and Daniel is still aboard Anubis's ship, evading capture. Anubis uses the mind probe on Jonas, learns of Naquadria, and begins his attack on Kelowna. The Kelownans seek aid from the SGC. Jack and Sam arrive on Langara to discover that they have given Anubis Naquadria in order to secure their safety. They communicate with Daniel who is attempting to free Jonas. Teal'c has convinced Yu's first prime to seek a new leader of the System Lords, Baal. Written by trekkie4christ

Quotes

Jack O'Neill: What's your situation?
Daniel Jackson: I'm hiding. What's yours?
Jack O'Neill: Carter and I are on the planet.
Daniel Jackson: You're gonna have to be a little more specific, Jack. I haven't had a chance to look out a window lately.
Jack O'Neill: You're hovering over Jonas' home world.
Daniel Jackson: Why?
Jack O'Neill: I wish I knew. Are you in any immediate danger?
Daniel Jackson: Eh, depends what you mean by immediate.
Jack O'Neill: Daniel.
Daniel Jackson: I'm fine. I got a location on Jonas' cell from the ship's computer. I'm on my way there right now. I just gotta couple of problems.

One of the Good Episodes
12 September 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This episode was one of the good ones. It's not treading water, a silly character study, or a low budget treading water episode. It's the central Goa'uld story with action, skulking around a mother ship, rescues, and big special effects.

While there are some oddities - Daniel and Jonas need a ring platform to ring to, but we've seen people ring to areas without ring platforms there - those become minor in the face of SG-1 being SG-1 at its best.

You can't beat a Goa'uld riding in like the cavalry to save the day.

As a bonus, Jonas makes his exit. While the character was decent, he was no Daniel Jackson. SG-1 = Jack, Sam, Daniel and Te'alc. Synchronizing swatches wasn't a good fit for SG-1.
