Sarah/Osiris hands Daniel a black tablet and says carbon dating shows it to be 10,000 years old. The tablet is very smooth-surfaced, shiny, and has a classic concoidal fracture in the upper left corner. Only glass, obsidian, or a flint like fine textured silicate rock would have these features. These materials can not be carbon dated. Carbon dating only works on matter that takes up or sequesters atmospheric carbon, such as organic matter (like wood or papyrus) or air bubbles trapped in ancient ice . See more »

Samantha is talking with her date who asks her to go to the zoo. Her response is that Colorado Springs does not have a zoo. But they do. It is called the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, not far from where she is supposed to be working. The producers have stated that they are aware of the zoo, but had Carter state this line to indicate how much of a social life she has - so little of one that she does not even know what goes on above her at Cheyenne Mountain. Down With Pete
16 September 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The half of the episode involving Daniel Jackson and Osiris is a solid 7. But there wasn't enough of that for a whole episode. So they pasted on another half, which was Sam and her relationship with boring Pete, played by David Deluise.

David may be a good director, but he's not a good actor. He has a way of portraying a character and delivering a line that creates absolute disinterest. The relationship between Sam and Pete is best left for far far far off screen. Keep Pete there too.

Meanwhile, Osiris is probing Daniel's dreams for the location of the Ancient's Lost City. That's interesting. Daniel and SG-1 capture Osiris and remove him (the symbiote) from Sarah Gardner.

Other than removing Osiris from the picture, the episode doesn't much further the ongoing Goa'uld plot.

Pete gets involved in the fire fight as they capture Osiris. He's hit by shrapnel or by Osiris' weapon. I rooted for the character to die.

Unfortunately, Pete will return.

Go away Pete!
