Having obtained permission to live off the base, Teal'c rents an apartment telling neighbors that he has recently arrived from Mozambique. He's under orders to keep a low profile but can't seem to help himself when it comes to helping his neighbors. He helps one of who is about to be assaulted by three thugs but it's his next door neighbor who seems to need assistance. Krista is having problems with her boyfriend Doug. Teal'c soon realizes that he is beating her and warns him that should he hurt her, Teal'c will kill him. It all becomes very difficult when Doug is found dead in Krista's apartment. Daniel Jackson soon after receives an offer - translate a Goa'uld text and he will get ironclad evidence that Teal'c is innocent. Meanwhile, Carter is shocked when her boyfriend Pete Shanahan tells he asked for a transfer to the local police department - and asks her to marry him. Written by garykmcd

Did You Know?

Several cameos occur quickly in the scene at the playground with Lt. Col. Samantha Carter and Pete Shanahan (about 8:00 into the episode). As they walk away from the hot dog stand, the man walking up carrying a child is Peter DeLuise, writer and director of the episode. The child is DJ, son of executive producer Michael Greenburg. Just seconds later, the woman waving behind the slide is Nikki Smook (Michael Greenburg's wife) and the woman in the red coat is Amanda Tapping's mother. See more »

User Reviews

sexy, believable, and long overdue

Hold on to your hats. Is this the first time in eight seasons that romantically-involved characters on SG1 have displayed a fair amount of...what's that word...oh yes, chemistry? These are banner times for Christopher Judge. He's gotten as much character development in the past two episodes as he had in the previous seven seasons combined. In this one, he moves into an apartment in the "real world", much to the concern of the pencil-pushers at the top. After playing "good samaritan" in his new neighborhood a little too Charles-Bronsonly, a shadow agency sets him up for murder, in order to get some ancient translations from Jackson. His neighbor (Erica Durance - SMALLVILLE) is having trouble with an abusive boyfriend. Teal'c teaches her martial arts, and they fall for each other. Sizzle. The B plot with Carter accepting her boyfriend's (Peter DeLuise) marriage proposal, is...um, not awful.
