This episode begins in the town of Valley Junction where we meet Arnie Ames coming out of the bank and handing Hollis Collier $500. Arnie has just purchased an item and Collier is going to get the purchase. But Ames is cautious about letting Collier leave with his money- so Collier advises that the horse and saddle that is in front of the bank is collateral for the money. Ames then agrees and Collier leaves. Later Ames finds out that the horse belongs to someone else and Collier has left town with his money. But little does Collier know he has just swindled a known killer.
Now in the town of Timberline, Ames and his two roughs catch up with Collier. But instead of killing him they want to plan a scheme. They will go to Outpost where Collier, with the help of a gold nugget, will slick-talk people into going in together and buying a mine. With Collier speaking skills and Ames's roughs, the town just maybe ready to invest.
Dennis Patrick gives a wonderful performance as the swindler that seems to con people at every turn. There is a lot of action in this show as Luke and Simon mix it up with some fancy fisticuffs that was bound to leave some stuntmen with some large bruises and sore backs. An entertaining story throughout.
