After a nice start, it became bland rather quick

Cesar Romero stars as Manolo Lalanda who use to be a General in the Imperial Army of Mexico under the rule of Maximilian. It seems that the Mexican authorities that are now in a republic ruled by Benito Juárez has a price on Manolo's head and he is being chased in the rural west by a bounty hunter named Joe Brandy. Manolo is actually injured in the shoulder by a bullet while Brandy and his men are trying to capture him. Now Manolo is roaming the west to avoid capture.

It happens that Luke, along with Davey, are on the stagecoach carrying a group of people to the next town. They are stopped along the way by the wounded Manolo. He tries to hijack the stage but due to his wound passes out before the project is done. Luke carries the wounded Manolo to the depot stop in order to get some help for his wound. But in no time Brandy shows up at the depot wanting the injured Manolo.

Now we have the passengers of the stage being held in the depot as they try to find out what to do with the Mexican. It will be easy just to turn Manolo over to the bounty hunters and save everyone's life. But there is going to be more to this story as the people hear from the man that is on the run from Mexican authorities.

The story turns out to be one of those tales where a group of people are held inside a building while they figure what to do with another member of the cast. Even though, at times, this may have been an interesting situation- on this show it began to drag the story to a stop. This plot has been played out many times on many different shows and when the same plot falls upon this episode it was predictable from the get-go. First half of the show was interesting while the second half seemed to slow to a turtle's pace. Just did not excite the entertainment value of the tale.

Manolo Lalanda (Cesar Romero) is more of smoothie here than a joker. He charms glamorous Sadie Wren (Barbara Nichols) at a bar then quickly makes his exit.

Manolo is wanted by Joe Brandy, a bounty hunter and Manolo is wounded in a shootout. Later an injured Manolo stops Luke's stagecoach. He wants to steal a horse and getaway but passes out.

It is not long before Joe Brandy is on to the stage coach helped by some Indians in his posse.

Luke Perry, his passengers and few others find themselves holed up with Brandy and his men outside.

They have no idea what Manolo has done or why he is wanted. It turns out that he was a Mexican general now wanted dead or alive by the new regime.

Very much a base under siege story. It is a question of whether Luke and others give Manolo up and put themselves in peril or stand together.

Conveniently Manolo is not a baddie which makes the eventual answer a bit more straightforward.

It is a kind of story done often in episodic westerns.
