Well done...and rather sad.

Elliot Fairchild (Dennis Morgan) is a well-respected lawyer who is about to be appointed by the Governor to finish up the term of a recently deceased Senator. Because of this, there's a press conference in Fairchild's home and the handlers are trying to present him in the best possible light. However, a guy who is apparently a reporter from Fairchild's hold hometown obviously has a major ax to grind and he issues a bunch of accusations and half-truths at Fairchild to try to hurt his chances of receiving this office. How Fairchild handles himself and his accuser are what makes this a very interesting episode of "The Star and the Story".

Dennis Morgan was a very good actor and here he shines. The story is interesting as well with an odd and unexpected twist. Well worth seeing and available for free download from archive.org--a site often linked to IMDb pages.
