Storyline

Help Wanted: Encouraged by his best friend, Patrick Starfish, SpongeBob overcomes his fears and finally applies for that dream job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. Challenged by the owner, Mr. Krabs, and his assistant Squidward, to prove himself worthy of the job, SpongeBob rises to the occasion, with the help of one very special spatula, by feeding a sea of ravenous anchovies. Reef Blower: SpongeBob's tendencies toward the extreme are highlighted in this four minute short. In an attempt to keep his yard meticulous, Squidward picks up the single shell sitting in an otherwise perfect lawn and tosses it over to SpongeBob's yard. Finding the perfect use for his electric, high powered 'reef blower,' SpongeBob goes to work. Squidward had no idea what chaos lay in store for his quiet afternoon at home. Tea at the Treedome: When SpongeBob meets Sandy Cheeks for the first time, she invites him over to her glass enclosed home. SpongeBob finds the biodome is full of air, something he's never ... Narrator: Ah, the sea. So fascinating, so wonderful. Here, we see Bikini Bottom, teaming with life. Home of one of my favorite creatures: Spongebob Squarepants. Yes, of course he lives in a pineapple, you silly.

A Great Pilot
26 May 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I'm reviewing every single episode in order. This was a great pilot episode but they really didn't need Reef Blower. If it wasn't in this episode, the score would have been 10/10. But Help Wanted is easily one of the best episodes of season 1 and Tea at the Treedome is brilliant and has that 'pinky' joke throughout the whole episode. My favorite moment from this episode is from Help Wanted:

(SPOILERS HERE) SpongeBob: 1 Hydrodynamic spatula with port and something attachments! And turbo drive! Can you believe they only had 1 in stock? Hilarious. 10/10 for Help Wanted.

Reef Blower was unnecessary but good. 7/10 Tea at the Treedome was an excellent introduction to Sandy. Also, as stated earlier, the 'pinky' gag is the best thing about the episode. I also like how the field guide said 'Land Squirrel.' Are there even squirrels underwater? 10/10
