An episode I think that might not be able to be made today. Nothing to do with political correctness.

Boris Johnson's Tory government are not that keen on a negative portrayal of British colonial power. Heaven forbid that Britain might have been involved in the mistreatment of the people it once ruled over, especially the non white types.

Moxon wants to be on the good books of the newly independent Kenyan government. The government are bringing a former Mau Mau warlord to trial.

Moxon needs Inman to persuade a former Special Branch officer Edward Kirk who was based in Kenya to return to the country and give evidence at the trial.

The trouble is Kirk does not want to go back mainly because he wants to spend time with his ill wife.

Moxon uses a journalist to muckrake Kirk's reputation by implying that he might had been involved in the death of some Kenyans.

There is a good cast here. David Langton from Upstairs Downstairs and square jawed Bryan Marshall.

However when you start noticing that Jordan is still wearing that pink shirt and tie combo from the previous episode. You know that this is not the most thrilling story.

It was rather implied that Kirk's wife might be ill. I had less sympathy with Moxon's chicanery in this one to besmirch the reputation of an innocent man.
