Good start to the second series.

Daisy is back from her holiday in Asia, she explains that she met a mysterious man, two agents are keen to trace him.

I really did enjoy it, I think the second half was definitely better than the first, but great to see the characters back for a second series.

Definite Shaun of the Dead vibes from this, the scenes in the pub were fantastic, and really worked for me. This episode was slow to start, but really did hit its stride, I look forward to this story unfolding this series.

Mark Gatiss and Kevin Eldon worked for me as the two agents, I think just because both seemed to be cast against type, I thought they were really funny.

I'm intrigued by the character of Stephen Edwards, and I hope we get to see a lot more of John Simm, I'm sure we will.

8/10.

Yikes, this is the first episode that didn't work for me. The whole opening expository thing felt forced and estranged me from the brilliant first season that everyone should already know. Meanwhile, visually, everything looked brighter and more cheery and had less of the garage-band-as-a-sit-com-spoof appeal.

Character-wise, Brian and Mike were too nice. Nick Frost who plays Mike hadn't reached the sidekick-acting brilliance he'd gain by Shaun of the Dead and for him, on this series, less is more, and here he was in the episode too much, especially having moved in. Always did prefer The Fonz in the blue jacket to the leather one.

Simon Pegg's Mike is going through the motions, and his buddy-buddy with Mike feels forced; they're better with a kind of offbeat love/hate vibe... And as for Daisy, she looks hot. Lost weight. But she too is... well...

Everything seemed just too much a genuine article of what the first season was parodying.
