Storyline

It's summer vacation, and now that the Colorado legislature has banned fireworks, the boys are left with nothing to do. Jimbo and Ned decide to head south and buy fireworks in Mexico, while the Mayor decides to exploit a loophole in the law (which still allows "snakes") by building the world's largest snake for the town's July 4 celebration. When the resulting snake becomes so large that it threatens to destroy everything, only a miracle can save the town. Written by Jean-Marc Rocher <rocher@fiberbit.net>

A Good Episode, Despite It Not Being My Favorite.
11 August 2012 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

This episode is basically about why Summer Sucks In South Park, this one time of year when the snow melts and when The Town tries to do something special for America's Indepedents Day, (The Fourth Of July.) this year, The South Park Citizens try to set the record for making the world's longest ash snake. The subplot involves Mr Garrison loosing his hand puppet: Mr Hat and with his habit of not living his life properly without it gets to a bigger problem, he sees Comedy Central's Dr Katz: The Professional Therapist who tries to give Mr Garrison some helpful advice, but he eventually gets burned by the ash snake. With the giant ash snake destroying the town, it is up to the boys to use fireworks to help bring an end to it! The episode had a great series of plot, but I felt that Mr Garrison's issue with losing Mr Hat could have been dealt with in a better way.

Overall Rating: 7/10!
